Nidhi Tewari

Professional Experience
Nidhi is the Head of our India Operation, she has over 14 years of experience of bringing together people and agencies on common platforms for achieving organizational and societal goals. She has worked with various (sub) national governments, private sector and NGOs and in the area of transformational leadership, cultural change, renewable energy, democracy, disaster recovery, and livelihoods. She has extensive experience of multi agency coordination during disaster reconstruction (earthquake, floods and Tsunami). She has conducted dialogues between public and government/elected representatives. She has also coached Members of Parliament.

Her clients include Indian Oil Corporation Limited, TATA-IWMI, Yahoo- India, Confederation of Indian Industries, MicroSave Limited, Liberty India, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas-Government of India, Government of Gujarat, Indian Youth Congress, Election Commission of India and the United Nations. She was a national leadership consultant for UNDP, co-led an evaluation of UNDP supported projects to assess leadership capacity gaps as well as challenges faced at the organizational & enabling environment level.

Nidhi is a founder and Director of a non-profit organization, Democracy Connect, which is engaged in investigating and developing ways and means by which the highest potential of the Indian democratic system can be realized in serving the country and its citizens.

She was elected an Ashoka Fellow in 2008 by Ashoka-innovators for the Public, a pioneering organization in the field of social entrepreneurship. She was one of 100 women leaders who participated in the centenary celebration of International Women’s year as part of International Visitor Leadership Programme of USA (2010-11).

Background
Nidhi is a Post Graduate from Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), India and has a Masters Degree in Economics. She speaks and works in English and Hindi and has a working knowledge of Gujarati and Urdu.
