Jesse McKay

Jesse-MckayProfessional Experience
Jesse has worked back and forth between two very different professions for the last 15 years: corporate organizational consulting and engineering.
As an organizational development consultant Jesse works with leaders motivated to achieve greater levels of effectiveness and impact through improved management of their selves, their teams, and their organizations. His approach draws heavily from developmental and cognitive psychology, systems thinking and design, methodologies to generate and promote cultural understanding, and research on achieving sustainable behavioral change.

As an engineer he worked with a team of scientists responsible for designing and building command and monitoring systems for ‘Columbus’ – the European wing of the International Space Station. While Jesse’s approach to organizational development consulting is naturally informed by all of the systems integration work he’s done as an engineer, he is most motivated by and interested in the ways that human systems are different from technological systems. Prior to his more recent work cultivating the leadership thinking and behavior of teams of managers and executives, Jesse worked on a large scale business process redesign project for the Canadian government, and with an American company designing and building a Business Intelligence platform that required integration of several disparate systems.

Jesse’s professional experience also includes entrepreneurial coaching and building a small corporate recruitment and selection company. Jesse teaches courses in Organizational Behavior, Leadership, and Corporate Strategy at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver Canada, he earned the top student feedback evaluation scores in the Faculty of Business two semesters in a row.

Jesse currently lives in central Germany. His extensive inter-cultural background also includes professional engagements in Russia, the United States, Ethiopia, Spain, Australia, Sweden, and Canada.
